It hasn’t been all that long since Casiokids released the album Tid for hjem, after having been dormant for over ten years. But after recharging for that long, it’s no surprise that their vault of songs is now overflowing with new music! Now, they’re ready to release their new album Sjelden vare (Translates as Rare Goods)!

Casiokids truly are a rare gem in Norwegian music history, having paved the way with their eclectic electropop during the 2010s. They firmly put themselves on the map, touring the world with hits like “Finn bikkjen” and “Fot i hose.” Now, Casiokids are launching the album Sjelden vare, set for a November 7th release. 

After a highly successful comeback in 2024—capped off with a brilliant performance at the Øya Festival in August—the band sees no reason to rest on their laurels. They’ve now gathered a collection of psychedelic and danceable pop tracks and are ready to take over clubs, festivals, and dancefloors in the coming year.

Fredrik from Casiokids says this about the album: “The creative ketchup effect hit after 10 years of dormancy, so now it’s just a matter of pouring out the songs before the ship sinks. We’re extremely happy with the album, which is both the shortest in terms of number of tracks, but also contains the two longest songs we’ve ever released

In our impatient algorithm-driven times, it feels natural to make a case for the long, breathing track. So some people might just have to endure a bit of boredom before the chorus kicks in after 4:30… It’s become a fine mix of dystopia, euphoria, and melancholy wrapped in our usual club-friendly sonic playfulness.”
