Following acclaimed releases and recognition from big radio stations in Norway and international media, Ida Stein is set to release her debut album Bring It On this October.
With roots in electronica, jazz and alternative pop, Stein has established herself as a distinctive voice in the Norwegian music scene. She was a finalist in NRK P3’s Urørt, hailed as “the new sound of the Nordics” by NRK P3, topped Apple Music’s electronica charts with her EP Changing, and had her music featured in NRK’s Unge Lovende and Netflix’ El Club. In reviews, her music has been likened to artists such as Björk, Chelsea Wolfe and Angel Olsen.

Bring It On is the result of years of artistic exploration and collaboration. Written in close partnership with her partner Werner Peschut (synths, drum programming, backing vocals), the album also features acclaimed musicians who have joined her in various live constellations. Stein herself wrote, produced and mixed the album, in addition to contributing vocals, synths, guitars and drum programming.

The title Bring It On reflects the album’s dual meaning – both a personal declaration of strength and freedom, and a critique of social structures and who gets to be heard. The music revolves around themes of resilience and independence, delivered through a voice that is both vulnerable and determined.

As an artist, composer and producer, Ida Stein does almost everything herself – from songwriting to production and mixing. She runs her own label Silver Shapes Records and has performed at By:Larm, Slottsfjell, and clubs in both Norway and Germany, and supported artists like Veronica Maggio, Sheppard and Seinabo Sey. She is also active as a DJ, vocalist and producer in the club-oriented duo SYNK, with releases on labels such as Full Pupp, Mhost Likely and Everyone on Acid, and appearances at HotHotHot, Stavernfestivalen, By:Larm and more.

The release of Bring It On will be marked by a concert series including Landmark (Bergen), Parkteatret (Oslo) and a hometown release show in Sandefjord. With this album, Ida Stein opens a new chapter – bold, uncompromising and ready to take her place on the international stage.
